I got a credit in English. I’m happy, but not satisfied actually. However I should be thankful as some did not get credit. I guess I am lucky because I was in a private primary school, and English was the important language. In other words we spoke English every time and everyday, and yeah, I was lucky.

I understood the comprehension passage well (maybe because of luck). My paper 2 helped me get this grade

How did I manage to get a credit?
By talking English to friends and family etc.
By reading books
By watching television and surfing the internet to increase my imagination skills and my general knowledge.

What helped me get my grades? Books! Nothing but the joy of books I’ve read to escape from depression in life, pressure from teachers and to suffer by ignoring food everyday because you miss your meals, you are so busy reading! Then anytime during the day, I write... anything. From phrases, philosophy, to short stories.
The most important is to watch the news everyday at 10pm.
I am not especially good in class. I was once kicked out by my teacher because she thought I was doing Maths when in reality I was calculating the probability for the amount of words and sentences to write in a composition.
But, I never missed the homework. Probably that’s the real reason.

Reading English novels during my free time. I usually go to the gym especially in the afternoon. Yoga blows my mind. It’s good for your body and it frees your soul.

I hate reading books but I love to read newspapers and magazines and also watch English tv.

I have always been reading novels and magazines and I think it helps me a lot. I’ve been to UK for ten months when my father furthered his studies to get a degree – that was when I was six, Speaking in English at school with friends and teachers also helps.

I think I got credit for my English because I always listen carefully when people are talking English. I seldom read books but I kind of force myself to read. Reading books and magazines is important. It helps to improve my English, and especially to extend my vocabulary. Communication is also important – speaking helps me to be confident and I can learn from my mistakes.

I think it was my teacher who helped me to gain a credit in English as she gave us a lot of revision and advised us to read more story books.

I think there were a lot of things that helped me to gain a credit. One of them is because I usually speak English at school rather than Malay to all my friend. I think this really helps a lot when it comes to the oral exam. Reading also improves my English.
